Susan Scofield: Friday night I will be wrapping presents at home while trying out the new “Shakedown” Imperial Chocolate Cherry Stout by Starr Hill Brewing Co!” Saturday I will be drinking delicious craft beers and checking out The Ok-Oks at Beer Mongers! Sunday, I’ll be getting some last-minute shopping done for the York fans on my list with Carmen Walsh’s “York PA Stuff” line at the Art Meets Fashion: Holiday Boutique at CityArt Gallery!

SATOKOBERG

Satoko Berg: We are getting together with some friends and making gingerbread houses this week! Our boys (8 and 4) go crazy with candies (so that they can eat them later)…. But when I make a ginger bread house, I tend to make it as simple as possible. I love the white of icing on the dark brown color of ginger bread. I also sprinkle powered sugar for a snowy effect.
Some of my inspirations are found here:

Robert Godfrey:  Thursday, I am heading over to Mudhook Brewing Company, 34 N. Cherry Lane (behind Central Market in York). I love the chicken wrap with blue cheese and medium buffalo sauce. I am also thankful they have Allegro Wine that is produced locally and not only beer. Allegro has some great dry reds and other styles for many palates. I usually go for their Cabernet Sauvignon or Pinot Noir. Thursday they also have open mic night from 7:30 to 9:30 p.m. and there were some great talented musicians there last week.
Saturday is Market Day and off to Central Market I will go. I believe a breakfast stop at The Busy Bee is in order. Their food is so YUM! Later, shopping at Sweet Melissa’s Dream, Indigo Bleu, Arthur & Daughters, Sunrise Soap Company, The Watchmaker’s Daughter, Kimman’s and Just Brenda Art Studio and Gallery to finish off a few of my last minute shopping needs.
Saturday evening will be dinner at Tutoni’s. They have great farm to table food, and I can BYOB my favorite bottle of Italian Collefrisio Montepulciano d’ Abruzza 2011 available at your local Wine and Spirits. Kable House Presents is featuring the band Tall Trees and Ian Fitzgerald at 8 p.m. in the Central Market. Tickets are available online for only $11 at www.kablehousepresents.com.

Rita King: This weekend I’ll hit up Carmen Walsh’s exhibit at the CityArt Gallery on Philadelphia St. She will be open 10-4 on Saturday and 10-3 on Sunday with York themed gifts perfect for anyone! It’s also my birthday on Saturday so we will be heading out to Holy Hound to celebrate in the evening!

JJ Sheffer: I’ll be visiting Midtown Cinema in Harrisburg twice this weekend. They’ve got a well-curated schedule of current releases, and they also screen old favorites. We’re members, so our admission is always $5, and their concessions are really great – try their Posh Corn, which comes in a ton of fantastic flavors.

Lyn Bergdoll: This weekend I plan to finish my holiday shopping at the Pewtarex Factory Outlet Store at 722 W. Market Street, York. Everyone loves receiving these beautiful and functional items, and I love giving gifts that are made right here in York County!
